Position purpose: Under the general guidance and supervision of the Chief Engineer, maintains the operational availability of all vessels of the Meeru Island Resort. The person will reports to the Assistant Chief Engineer and the General Manager and will supervise the Marine Mechanics.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

· Ensure All Duties carried out in accordance to Meeru Engineering Policy & Procedures are carried out;

· Implement & Maintain a Preventative and Planned Maintenance Record of all Boats/Yachts;

· Keep proper records of economical boat operations;

· Ensure proper Service Records on all Boats/vessels;

· Maintain adequate supply of Spare parts of all boat engines;

· Carry out weekly checks on all boats/Yacht engines with boat Captains;

· Training of Staff in correct Engineering practices on Engine repairs & rebuilding,

· Investigate & make recommendations on purchases of parts, equipment and contract services;

· Make recommendations on Capital Expenditure, Annual Boat/Yacht Engineering Budgets

· A member of the Resort Emergency Team and to comply with the Health & Safety Policy.

Qualifications:

* Fluent in English, Good communicator and Team player
* Must have a BSc Engineering Degree in Marine Mechanics/Engineering
* At least 5 year previous experience in a similar position
* Must have good Planning, organizing skills, High level of Initiative and Technical know-how;
* Age 28 – 38 years
* Any licenses or permits that may be required by law and regulations

Benefits:

One year contract, committed to stay 2 years, salary of US$2,000 /month, paid in US$. In addition there is a monthly service charge of about US$172.

Single accommodation, meals, medical health insurance, laundry, uniform provided. 30 days annual leave with return airfare paid to the point of hire, 1 day off per week (able to accumulate up to 8 off days), entitled to use the resort’s F&B outlets for personal use at 60% discount, free use of (most) of the resort’s leisure facilities, e.g. water sports, scuba diving. 24-Hour free internet.
