Hamburg Sud has another batch on order with the same reefer capacity but larger TEU intake. Maersk Line just ordered a series of 7100 TEU ships with 1700 reefer plugs, (plugs, not TEU). the largest ships in reefer capacity are, currently, the Hamburg Süd’s “Monte Class” with 1365 reefer plugs, or around 2730 reefer TEU if all 40ft, out of the nominal 5550 TEU capacity. Hamburg Sud has another batch on order with the same reefer capacity but larger TEU intake.
