The SEABEEEs are indeed very capable ships. The Navy lists them as heavy lift shipsperhaps in view of the elevato's capacity. They havemost recently been used as sealift for various boats, barges, small craft and outsized cargo for a LOTS operation. I saw a study done many years ago on how these ships could transport troops, and how they could be converted to UNREP ships.
