NEW DELHI (Dow Jones)–BG Group PLC (BG.LN) expects to sign a final agreement with GSPC Ltd. in mid-2012 to supply 2.5 million tons of liquefied natural gas per year, a company executive said Friday.
The sales of LNG are expected to start in 2014, Walter Simpson, president and managing director of BG India, told reporters on the sidelines of an industry conference.
Energy company GSPC is fully owned by the provincial government of Gujarat in western India. According to its website, it is building an LNG terminal in western India through a wholly owned unit.
