All American passengers, all-American port of departure, all American stock-holder owned foreign flag ship. All American jobs non-existent. Crew were foreign citizens allowed to work for 6 months...closest thing I've seen to indentured servitude. No OT on Sunday, 7 days a week. Union? No way! This is American Fascism at it's best. Or are these boat-hands on non-union oil rigs or scab outfits on ferries? I had a US MM doc as an AB. I shipped on a Victory to Vietnam as well as many C-2s and container ships in the 60s-70s but now need all kinds of certification and trainings to renew. EX-NMU; Exeter, Independence, Big U, US Lines freighters,<br>SS Gulf Oil.... American, maritime ship-board jobs as in the SUP or the SIU-NMU?
