    Default Smith Tugboat Family

The New Yorker has a good listen on working on Tugs.

This week in the magazine, Burkhard Bilger writes about tugboats, with a focus on the Smith family, who have lived on tugboats since Latham Smith built his first one in 1969. Here Bilger narrates an audio slide show about the Smiths and the tugboating life. With photographs by Benjamin Lowy and snapshots courtesy of the Smith family.

This was very interesting audio. I have had the pleasure of meeting Capt. Smith a few years back when working in Port Canaveral.

I just recently came off the Elsbeth II. Smith is with out a doubt a unique environment, and possibly one of the best companies to work for.
