Would the chief for the love of god stop watching infomercials? Anti-aging skin cream isn't going to do a god damn thing for him.
Annoyances from the lounge you care to share?
Or stuck on BET. My chief watches the western channel all day. The whole boat had seen every western known to man 3 times.
The guys also like their cheap a$$ country music but not CMT...they like the over the air antenna one... "more skin" they say. Only engineers in my experience. Nothing against country but get a goddamn ipod and keep it out of my galley. I'm still irritated from this morning's infomercial session

Every time I get up for watch the Chief has on a show about aliens. Apparently they are responsible fore EVERYTHING!!!
Winter is coming....
Had a guy once program the sat box to turn on the sopranos everyday at 1400 or whatever it is. Always walked in the galley when he was home wondering wtf..too much coincidence here.
Promptly programmed in some Spanish soap to come on around 1405 once I figured out what was going on. Guy couldn't program a number in his phone but sure as hell could run a cable box. Great entertainment watching him flip out blaming his relief.
I had a engineer that loved the "Madea" movies.... Madea gets welfare, Madea has her 27th kid, Madea gets audited by the IRS... One more Madea movies an ill go ducking postal in the galley.
Wanna watch a flick if things are slow, finish your days work(which can never completed) and complete your paperwork, and I really don't give a damn. Just don't make it a everyday thing. But stick Madea on the tube and the asshole will come out in a hurry.
Back before Sat TV we had a cook that HAD to have the TV on no matter what. He was the pet of the Captain so he could do no more. I just about lost it when one day we were out in the middle of the GOM and I walked into the galley and here is the cook sitting there staring at the blue screen on the TV. You just can not fix Stupid!
A Good Friend will Bail you out of Jail, But a Great Friend will be sitting right next to you saying WOW that was a Blast!
We were anchored off Colon for a few days. I'd come out the the E/R and he'd be glued to the TV watching the local novelas. I said "I didn't know you spoke Spanish". He replied that he didn't. I asked why he spent so much time watching novelas. "Because it's the only thing on!", he relplied.....On the way back, I was awoken by the engine alarm. I waited a couple of minutes and the alarm was not silenced. As I got up and passed through the galley, the asst was standing next to the TV watching Springer. I guess the alarm was interfering with his hearing the TV. As I passed by into the fidley, he said he was about to go down and check it out.... He was perplexed why I didn't take him back for another hitch.
