    Default TWIC expiration extensions

In a tacit admission that they suck, TSA announced Friday that they're offering an extension of the TWIC expiration for most holders. The extension is not free, but it's something I guess. You will only need to pay another 60 bucks to wait on them to get their act together (coming up on five years and still counting).

The new option allows you to extend your current credential and only visit the TWIC center once. This essentially eliminates the background check and the fee for it.

Too bad congress didn't step up and smash these idiots. I saw some grilling of the TSA by a committee, but nothing was done. Nobody is fired, demoted, nothing.

But this is something I guess. It's hard to call it good news, but it was more than I thought they would do.

Yes - but the article clearly must be false.
