Cell Phone Signal Boosters
Do any of you have them on board? What kind do you use? How much does it improve cell service?

I have use them onboard tugs. I don't remember the brand but they work! We used to lose signal at around 3-4 miles and after they installed it we had signal as far as 8-9 miles. We also had some tugs that didn't get any signal in the galley even at the dock and after they got them they had full bars.

You should get a cell phone jammer instead for a few laughs, I mean who really wants to listen to a seaman's personal calls?

Bouchard Transportation made all the tugs and barges remove the signal boosters last year due to some states that ban them from use, you may want to check the state laws prior to your purchase.
