Medical Waiver Removal

I am looking for any Info/Input on having a Medical Waiver Removed from My License. I have a Complete Cardiology Practice that sees no need for me to have a Specific Annual Test Performed yet the Medical Department of the NMC refuses to accept these findings. Frustrating and a Waste of Time and Money.

I have the same situation. I was informed that in spite of the fact that my cardiologist has sworn and affirmed there is no issue, I still have to get a workup every year in spite of it. I'm glad I have the benefits that cover most of it. An annual cardiac exam isn't necessarily a bad thing, realistically if you've been cleared once you can't really guarantee you'll stay that way. I'm thinking it's a bit of CYA and "once in the machine, always in the machine". My doctor is not going to complain, a few more guys like me and he can get the new Lexus.

I agree completely, the tests are stupid and not very useful. I had my annual stress test on 9/15 and on 11/16 had a mild heart attack with the three major arteries to the heart blocked at 60%, 100%, and 3 clots in the remaining artery that was blocked at 100%. 3 stents later sitting at home waiting to have more put in. The fun part will be once the doctors are done and release me for duty, then I get to wrangle with the Coast Guard about the waiver before I actually get to return to work.

I know, quite a bit of sarcasm there. Truth be told if you would have mentioned this subject to me 3 weeks ago you would have gotten pretty much the same response you gentleman have posted. If the Coast Guard is requiring it, then roll with it. But do yourself a favor, have the nuclear test done, it might actually show a problem before it becomes a major problem.

My issue in not Blockage nor ever has been. I have Pre-Mature Ventricular Contractions which is basically a Pesky Extra Heart Beat (Sometimes!) that has been with me for at least 25 years. I have bi-annual Echo-Cardio Grams for this which all of which show no problem. Two Nuclear stress tests as well as a Cardio-Catherization show that all is well. What gets me is that fact that the Supposed Medical Professionals at the NMC will not respond to repeated attempts by my Cardio Team for contact. My Cardio Quacks only want to see me annually for an Echo-the NMC wants Bi annual Echos and a Nuclear Stress test annually. The Five Cardiologists in the Providence Paractice I use and one Boston (Mass General) Specialist all say that A Nuclear Stress test is NEVER used in the Treatment and Maintenance of my diagnosis. So What gives the NMC the Right to Dictate Medical Practice and Procedure?
