Default TPIC Renewal w/o Tanker Seatime?

Heading for an MMC renewal, but have no seatime in the past five years from a tanker. Is it true that you can renew the TPIC endorsement if you retake the TPIC course? Trying to save all job avenues..... Perhaps Mr. Cavo could chime in.....

Contact Wess at Mid Atlantic Maritime Academy. I proposed the same question to him a couple of weeks ago and after a little research he said I'm good to go after completion of their Renewal PIC Course. http://www.mamatrains.com/Maritime-T...ails.asp?id=92

Yes, thanks. Ran across their course on the NMC website. Hoping that the regular TPIC course (5 day versus the 2 day renewal will work), as it's free through the union versus the $400 + expenses at Mid-Atlantic.

Yes. If you do not have time on tankers and transfers in the past five years, you can renew by taking the course again [46 CFR 13.120]
