    So what are the best companies in your segment (like GOM workboat, Cruise Liners, Foreign Flagged LNG...)?
    I'll do Offshore Dirlling to start things off:

    Seadrill;
    Best money and benefits. New company so reliability in a downturn is a concern.
    Transocean;
    Waiting to see their rank once the payscales fromt he latest merger are figured out.
    Stena:
    Good pay but no benefits to US based mariners

    Worst:
    Pride:
    Not sure the numbers but they run through people like water.

    Oh, lessee. Hrere's my list in order (this week):
    1. Crowley.
    Training and genuine comittment to safety.
    2. Western.
    Safety, and they build the most amazing boats, and maintain them immaculately.
    3. Sause.
    Because I used to work there, and I would again.
    4. Dunlap.
    Because my friend works there and likes them.
    5. Foss
    Because they are trendsetters with their new "green" boats.
    6. K-Sea.
    Because the old Sea Coast guys who still work there after they buyout seem to like them.
    No charge!

    I made you look!

    Now, the cons:
    1. Crowley:
    All the training eats up time off. New Hires have to wear stupid yellow hardhats and are known as "lemonhead" or "fucking lemonheads".
    2. Western:
    You want some time off? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
    3. Sause:
    No unlicensed deck means the Mates are the deckhands. You can make as much money as a Mate working as a cook.
    4. Dunlap:
    My friend works there.
    5. Foss:
    Too fricking corporate.
    6. K-Sea
    Tankermen run the show.
