Default Schools to replace REC's ??

I was talking to a friend recently who is owner of a CG Approved School. He told me that he and several other school owners were heading up to NMC for training in checking the docs for direct submission to NMC, bypassing the REC. My assumption is that this would be only for entry level, original issue, mariners who have completed courses at the school, but I won't know more until either he gets back, or someone here (Mr Cavo?) can tell more.

That has been in the works for some time. Part of QSS approved schools.

Sort of. NMC has been working n devloping this, but it is independent of any QSS requirement. I'm not aware of all the details, but certain schools, companies, unions, etc. will be able to submit batches of similar applications directly to NMC.
