    Default Sea Service Credit Question

Does anyone know of AB classes that count as sea service credit? Specific schools? I've just read that certain classes can count as sea service credit and for AB Special up to 4 months of sea time can be credited, AB Limited it can be 6 months, and AB Unlimited it can be up to 12 months credit.

I've looked at the list of approved courses from the Coast Guard but it doesn't mention anything about credited sea time.

It would be nice to take one of these courses and get closer to an AB rating. Thanks.

I don't know for sure, but I think that this reference is for the Maritime Academies. I am sure that someone will correct me.

I've sailed with several graduates of the Piney Point trainee program that received their AB ticket not long after their first or second hitch. I don't know if it was a Special or Limited. They did get some credit for the school.
