The only reason that the case was won, in my opinion, was the arbitrary 6 month time lime. Unfortunately, I predict a new moratorium not based on any time line. There will be no deepwater drilling with the current leak. Even if there was no moratorium, the Interior department would not give any permits because our nation's oil response capabilities, in there entirety, are currently being used. We have no more capability. Oil companies must have response plans and there are no resources to plan. Plain and simple. The industry will have to prove, before drilling another well, that a more robust oil response capability in is place. The rest is a dog and pony show, aka the political process. As long as there is a leak - forget about spudding in. I don't see it any other way.
