But seriously, I am fortunate to get full day on and full day off. I have gotten off the boat before at 0930 and and did not get home until 2300. Had to darn near take out a loan one time in the St.Louis airport to afford lunch!! Had to ride over a day because we were underway in Laguna Madre a couple of years ago. But it makes those times that I am home before lunch so much sweeter.
Catching the boat worst case scenario for me lately is flying into Houston (cause that's where the supplies were) then driving all the way to Mobile, ALA. Arriving in time to do 4 hours on watch at the wheel. But, you know I've never been so tired that I could not put sheets on that filthy mattress... LOL
