Default 3rd unlm renewal without 360 days?

I'm up for renewal and have not earned a year of sailing in the past few years. Can I still renew? I've been working in the maritime industry though. Just not sailing

You can definitely renew, but... You will have to complete an at-home, open book test. If your work is as port captain or similar, it might be counted as "closely related service" and your at-home test would only be rules of the road. If it's not, the test has two parts, rules and everything else except nav. problems.

You cannot renew your STCW without re-taking the courses, or a refresher courses (there are only 2 or 3 of those).
