Nmc oooops!

A mariner called a REC about taking the test for a license he applied for. One small glitch, he had the new MMC in his hand with the officer endorsement already in it except he never tested is what he told the REC. Sombody at NMC keeps telling the evaluators to get the files out the door and we will deal with the errors later. I'm not sure who's making that call but I would guess it's coming from upstairs. God only knows how many like that are going out that are not saying anything. They probably can't believe their good fortune.

I was told another draft was ready to go down to print and one of the "Dream team" members caught it. It was an original Master 25 ton and they gave him AB unlimited on the credential. All from a small vessel sea service form.

Now is a good time to start a career at sea. You might get lucky and start as a Chief Engineer. Maybe I'll reinstate my credential from the 70's.

No kidding, I've been wanting to get my 1600 ton, but school looked to be such a drag.

So what happens if you get something that you're not supposed to have, you don't tell anybody, and you go for renewal for you inappropriate credential? Like what are the chances that you'll keep it if you just keep your mouth shut?

Could you live with yourself, knowing you were a fraud? It's an ethical issue. What would you tell your son or daughter to do?

At this point, if I had a son or daughter, I'd be telling them to get out there and find a job...'cause I'm not find any...

There is no such thing as ethics any more in this country. Just watch the news everyday. If I got a credential I wasn't qualified to get I would go to work and take care of my family and to hell with NMC and all their mistakes.

I know of at least one case of a guy turning in a cert for Apprentice Mate Steersman and he was issued Mate Pilot of towing W/R without a TOAR and very little service.

Resentment is the number one offender, from it stem all forms of spiritual disease! To be truly free one needs to accept some basic truths about our purpose here on this beautiful planet. If the goal is to serve ones self then the world appears to be lost. However through Gods unlimited grace and love for each of us. A light is present in this world. Like an avalanche coming down the mountain it spills over us all. Find a way to be free of resentments my friend and you will find what you seek.

might as well grab and run with it..what's the worst scenario if something happens and you get caught?. they put you in "club fed"..a "cot and 3 squares"..make ole Bernie Madoff your "bitch"..improve your golf game with the other "club members!!

I'd personally tell them they made a mistake and they gave me the wrong endorsement. I'd much rather have something knowing I earned it than to have something handed to me by mistake. Honesty and Integrity is something I truly believe in and live by!

All,
I personally know of one instance where the NMC produced a license and sent it to the person that had applied to test, and another where the student was following the new NMC tracking website and realized that they had sent his package to printing - they were going to send him his MMC without testing as well...remember, improved efficiency and consistency...
