Default Mr Cavo et al: RFPNW, "record showing each day"

    Hello:

More RFPNW questions. I am an AB on a 900 grt GOM dive support vessel. I have downloaded NMC 14-02. My Captain is signing the assessments I complete found in the 14-02 letter. Here is my confusion:

The letter says I need, "... a record showing each day, or four-hour period, when service under training was complete...."

What the heck do I need to turn in to satisfy that language above? Do I need a day by day itimized list with each watch signed off or

will a seperate Sea Service Letter simply listing the dates on board as "May 1, 2009 to May 30, 2009" 30 days sea sevice standing 12 hour watches and include name of vessel, GOM NC routes, master signature?

I guess Im asking just how detailed does that "record showing each day" need be?

    Excellent question..

I attended a RFPNW class and they supplied a watch keeping book to document every watch along with the applicable assessments...Would a sea service letter be accepted in lieu of watch keeping record???

i just looked at the pokicy letter 14-0

    http://www.uscg.mil/nmc/marpers/pag/14-02.pdf

it seems to be missing a page

MAKE SURE YOUR SEA TIME LETTER STATES THE YOU HAVE SPENT CERTAIN DAYS ON AN 8 HOUR WATCH.

YOU MIGHT WANT TO EMAIL NMC AND ASK THEM FOR THE CORRECT FORM.

I called NMC was put on hold for 8 min.

I asked what they required to satisfy the "record showing" nav watches.
The answer: a Sea Service Letter on company letter head stating the usual stuff plus duties included "navigation watches."

I said thank you, waited one hour, and called again. Got another person. Asked same question and got same answer!

So....... seem all that is needed is the:
    1) Checklist To Record Completion Of Practical Assessments
    2) Assessment of Competency RFPNW
(the above are found in the NMC Letter 14-02)

    and

Sea Service Letter from company that contains "stood nav watch" language.

Hope NMC call center is right. Ill let ya know when I submit in three more hitches.
