Default Murphy's book vs on line USCG question bank...

    Hi Folks,
Can I get some input on the discrepancies between the contents of the Murphy's books and the USCG pool available at http://www.uscg.mil/nmc/training/...
I have been working some chart construction problems that are in the Murphy's Nav Gen book (USCG #2414 as an example). My math doesn't come close the answer, Capt Joe's answer is the same as mine - but he selects the USCG answer and now it appears that the question isn't in the pool....If its not in the pool can I blow it off?

My issue may be that PMI sold me an old set of books....2005

The books on the NMC web page are updated monthly, and we change/add questions to our pool almost daily. If we get a protest and decide the question is bad or just could be better, we change it, or on occasion, we delete it.

Those questions are very difficult, and I could never consistantly get the correct answer in my calculations either. Perhaps this is a failing on my part. I can't remember, but I think I got one of those in my CM/Master exam and basically guessed at it.
