    Barge Accident Shuts Down Houston Ship Channel; $1 Billion in Losses Expected-MARITIME LAWYER NEWS

    The tow boat Safety Quest, pushing three barges of scrap metal, hit the high-line electrical tower which carries lines across the Houston Ship Channel, located at the narrowest point of the shipping artery. The accident occurred at around 6 a.m. Sunday morning, October, 3rd, in Baytown, Texas shutting down the Houston Ship Channel. See photos and video.
