Thanks shellback!

My Mom taught me something important- "We make a living from what we get- we make a life from what we give"

I try to live by those words

Found this on Craigslist-

Candidate will be responsible for the smooth and efficient mechanical operation of our fishing vessel. Must be high energy, get it done, team-oriented professional with good communication skills. Must have a strong work ethic, and have a complete understanding of the working systems of the vessel. We have 3 fishing vessels; one crab catcher/processor and 2 COD catcher/processors. The vessels range from 150-170’ with 1385-1800 HP engines.

Great compensation and medical insurance available with a reasonable rotation schedule.

Please email your resume to greatfishjobs39@yahoo.com

John,
More and more threads about looking for work. Before long people will be posting resumes.
Maybe that's a direction you could separate from the other threads.
Sure makes me glad I got a good job and I'm not looking...but I'll pass on any rumors I hear.
333 is short on Lic Engineers. C/E Limited/oceans is great but DDE works, EMD experience is a big plus, no more steam tugs.
I intend to finish out with this company. I know I'm sick but at the end of my hitch I say ..."they're making me go home."
Remember yall saw a picture of my wife.

I sent my info and documents to Captain Sweeney and I never heard back from him ever again, guess he couldn't find anything for me. He's helped out a lot of other people from what I've heard though.

Was just in contact with Captain Sweeney, my email never went through so it's a mistake on my end. Wasn't trying to bash on Captain Sweeney at all, he has gotten back to me every time I have emailed him, but I messed up my last email so that's why I never heard back. My fault, and I'm sorry if I mislead anyone into thinking he's a bad guy which he is not, I would recommend him to anyone!

I applied here- they contacted me and were interested in hiring me- until they found that I live in Colorado. You have to live in/near one of their ports. I offered to re-locate- no such luck.

They keep putting up new ads every few days- so I'm guessing they need multiple people.

I have had some correspondence with Blackwater USA and this former NOAA ship (M/V Security Shadow or M/V McArthur depending on who you talk to) could be providing security for who ever contracts her in the waters off the coast of Somalia. Any privateers out there??
Cheers,

BlueNose

I spoke with Blackwater a few months back. They were/are looking for AB's. I'm an OS but they asked me to apply- pending possible openings.

Yeah, Hornblower. The Master on the Pierce County Ferry makes $17.00/hr, and the "Superferry" will be out of business in the next year, mark my words.. I'd never take a job that Hornblower is creweing. "Screw the Mariner" is their motto.

I've seen what the Pierce County Ferry does, my sister's house overlooks the ferry landing. That's 100 ton NC captain position, and for the amount of work and/or risk involved $17.00 is fair, IMHO. I'd take a gig with them on the West Pac Expess, been trying to for several years now - if anyone knows any "secret" contacts, passwords, handshakes or phone numbers, pass 'em my way!
