Default Military Sealift Command (MSC) opens entry level

All,

Military Sealift Command (MSC) has opened Yeoman Storekeeper and Supply Utilityman positions effective 2/8/2010.

The latter job is entry level & scut work, but it will get one in the door. Many years ago when I shipped the unofficial moniker was "gloryhole steward" and believe me there was no "glory."

See:

Rgds,

Guampaul

How often do they hire in the Comm. Dept. ?
I did all that stuff in the USN and was just curious. The 1st Comm officer job would be where I fit in.

Who knows!? Ya just gotta check the MSC employment website often

They have an "In the next few months" spot there and none of the RET spots look to be comming open but, that could change quickly - keep checking.

Thanks for the info...I finally got my TWIC, MMC, and U.S. Passport...I am trying to get hired by MSC..I want to go Engine dept. but no entry level positions (wiper) posted. I am going to apply for Yeoman storekeeper and supply utilityman...I don't care if I have to start at the bottom and in the toilet bowl...I just want to get my foot in the door. I've been driving OTR the last three years and I would much rather live on a ship than in a truck with a living space the size of a small closet, talking to myself for months at a time. Any info helpful to getting hired will be much appreciated!
