    Default Louisiana visit

Made the drive down yesterday to knock down doors... No luck yet. Went to hornbeck, gulfmark, gol, secor, oceaneering, otto candies, larborde. I did have one offer from secor as an AB, still considering it ( I have a 3rd mate unlimited license without DP). Hornbeck wanted to hire me, but no DP. Any tips for tomorrow?

Sorry bud no top company is going to hire you and throw you directly in the wheel house. Especially if you have no oil field experience and especially no DP experience.

I would expect the same i I tried to jump to blue water or tugs. Why should you be different?
Getting straight with Nate, because apparently getting right means your going to have to retake Nav Gen

If one was new to the oilfield, an ab position at Seacor would be a great starting point, in my opinion.

You skipped Harvey. There are GLMA guys there. Don't give up so quick and an AB spot would be a great way to at least get your foot in the door.

Take an AB spot in the oilfield and learn the ropes... you'll have your foot in the door AND you have your ticket so you'd be on a fast track to move up as well as learning and making a living at the same time.

Said it once and here it goes again....ANY fresh cadet too good to put in some deck time, is obviously far too good to be in my wheelhouse.

Actually he's been working as a mate for a few years now. Not exactly fresh outta the academy, but there's still room left on the holier-than-thou band wagon so hop on.
