Default Super Typhoon Megi closing in on Luzon

Super Typhoon Megi (Cat 5) (17th/1200Z) is approaching Northern Luzon in the Philippines and landfall is forecast within 12 hours. Max surface winds are estimated to be an incredible 155kts (180mph)with gusts to 190kts (220mph) and hurricane force winds extend outward 60NM to the northwest and 40NM to the southeast. Megi will weaken as it passes across Northern Luzon, however, it likely will maintain typhoon strength when it reemerges out over the South China Sea.
