New Tropical Disturbance

A new tropical disturbance appears to forming over the NW Caribbean Sea in the same general area as Alex and could take a similar track.

Ships and Buoys over the Yucatan Channel are reporting strong to near gale conditions to the east of Invest 96L.

The area of 25-30kt winds that was over the Yucatan Channel yesterday has now moved northward over the north-central Gulf of Mexico and appears to be displaced far to the northeast of the circulation center over the southwestern Gulf.
