    Default D.P.O. Sea time

Will the NMC ever consider a D.P.O.s sea time as a watch standing for license requirements??

Why ever not if you hold an appropriate license or credential? It happens all the time but if you have no MM credential then you had better get one but you have to go through all the testing and assessments and other BS to upgrade from OS to AB to mate to master. No free rides there.

If your currently working on a self propelled semi submersible drilling unit that does not require a MM deck credential then it is a concern for those who are looking to upgrade regardless of current MM credentials!

It doesn't master if it requires a credential or not, except for people going from chief mate to master. Make sure your sea time is written as "mate/dpo", since what I hear is that the nmc does not know what a dpo is or does.
