    Default Drill ship question

I saw my first 2 drill ships on location the other night. Both of then had flashing amber's on them. What does they mean?

Are you sure they were amber?...all rigs have white flashing obstruction lights on them. Two forward and two aft. Were you in the GoM? Are you sure they were ships? Fixed platforms have amber obstruction lights on them I believe.

There are numerous types of moving heavy equipment and machinery onboard Drilling Rigs and platforms including forklifts. Many of them have flashing amber lights as a safety measure. It could be anything.
