Advice for the new guy?

Hello all,
I just graduated from Texas Maritime Academy, and I've accepted a job as a 3rd engineer for a subsea drilling contractor in the GOM.

Since I'm still fairly green, I would appreciate some advice before I start working at the beginning of next year.

I figure if I just bust my ass, ask questions, and listen to what the older and wiser have to say, I'll be alright.

And remember, more trouble starts around the galley table than in the engine room.
