STX Finland Oy has signed a contract for the construction of two large offshore modules for the North Sea. The modules will be delivered from STX Finland´s Turku Shipyard at the end of year 2012. The project will bring some 250 man-years of labour to Turku Shipyard.

The construction of these two large modules with overall dimensions of approximately 63m x 52m x 47m and 40m x 45m x 13m will start during spring 2012. The total weight of these two modules will be more than 5000 tons. This demanding project will include the steel fabrication, surface protection and hot outfitting of the modules. When completed the modules will be transported by barge to Norway, for final assembly, outfitting and commissioning.
