I served under CAPT Alexander, and am anything but shocked at his behavior. CAPT Alexander was extremely abusive to his subordinates while I served under him. This was while he was a mid-grade officer. I could only imagine it would have gotten worse as he rose through the ranks and his power increased. Though he never physically struck anyone, objects were always flying, and he was a ticking time bomb. You never know when he would go off or what to do to avoid his temper. It was the random/arbitrary nature of his outbursts that made it untolerable, and to this day, almost twenty years later, all of which in federal service, I can honestly say he was the worst supervisor I ever had. Karma takes its time, but it usually delivers.

The only mistake I see is Capt. Elmo forgot for a moment he was Capt. and should have had ordered a Master Chief to get a 3rd class petty officer to get a deck hand to slap the snot nosed kid for sleeping on his watch. Then I would have been an every day type brawl. Mission accomplished!
(Note, I'm only kidding. Then again...)
