The U.S. Coast Guard is investigating a death aboard a Panama-flagged tanker moored in Richmond, California.
A spokesman for the U.S. Coast Guard said that personnel recovered a body on board the tanker Argent Sunrise at approximately 7:24 p.m. on Sunday. The tanker was apparently moored at Phillips66 terminal located on San Francisco Bay in Richmond.
Authorities identified the victim on Monday only as a man in his 30s, according to media reports.
AIS data revealed the tanker has departed Richmond and was in Stockton, California as of Wednesday.
An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated the tanker was moored at the ConocoPhillips terminal. ConocoPhillips sold the Richmond terminal to Phillips66 in 2012.
